Question:
Welcome Christy! I’m glad you’re here & hope you can find the support you’re looking for. I have had my Lupus-like illness for over 10 years, so I know it gets discouraging sometimes. Have you had organ involvement? I can’t really answer the mouth sore question as I don’t get them very often & they aren’t like yours when I do. We did have a thread awhile back about them though, so look for another post from me soon, k? I’ll go do the Google! : ) aHug4u, Maggie

Hi Christy! I couldn’t find the other thread about mouth sores from awhile back. It must have been under another subject heading. I know others here do have these problems though & they will be along. Do you notice a reaction to any foods or types of lights? Your tongue sounds like something that happens to Mair, when she eats cherries or stays under flourescent lights too long. She will most likely post if she’s feeling up to it. Hugs, Maggie

I wish we had a mini-FAQ about mouth sores, there’s so much in the archives of what worked or didn’t. http://tinyurl.com/2mo7l See 3 Feb 2004 (but there’s more further back in time, including watching out for what’s in the toothpaste) It’s finding the time to go through them all, collect the list and run it by the group…… Hugs J

Hi Christy, Welcome. This is the place to share and vent. We take turns doing that, so jump right in. I am glad that you found us. I am looking forward to getting to know you better. I am Canadian. There are a few of us here. I am not one of the clever ones, who can provide lots of info. I am usually around to listen though, so chat away. BJ-Sk. Hi Christy! [picture me digging my way out of a pile of totally unnecessary paperwork] Here I am! I get several sorts of things with my mouth, but none of them sound like what you are having. None of them swells up like that. I get painful lesions in and at the sides of my mouth, seemingly due to acidic fruits (but only sometimes). And I get a painless condition where the inside of my mouth blisters and all the skin peels off. This seems mainly due to flourescent lighting… it happens when I go into the supermarket. Even though it is painless, when that happens, I know I am receiving rays that are harmful to myself, and I try to get out of the store as soon as I can. And just this year I have started having a problem with my tongue being very painful. The first few times it happened, I thought it was from a burn. Then I started really looking at my tongue, and I noticed it had a small line down the center, turning into a crack! Well, that is a sign of B vitamin deficiency, so I started doubling up on my vitamins, and that very painful situation is now cleared up. But I don’t have anything like what you have, with the swelling and all. It sounds like you need an anti-inflammatory of some sort, with all that swelling. Do you have a good rheumatologist? You need to have a capable doctor take a look at your mouth. Hoping you feel better soon… Mair "BJ" <B…@sk.nojunk.ca> wrote in message
