Introduce me

Question:

Hi thought I would introduce myself. My name is Ginger, I am in MO. I was diagnosed with MCTD when I was 15 I am now 38. I was diagnosed with Scleroderma, Lupus, Raynauds and Rheumatoid Arthritis. At that time there were only 10 known cases of a person having all four diseases me being one of them. I am sure it is more now. I am divorced, have two teenage sons that I love very much and are my world. I wrote to you about the trembling in my arm. Thanks for the advice. I also recently found out from a Rheumatologist that I have to have pulmanary function studies done and get started on treatment cause lungs are involved from the scleroderma, can someone explain what exactly it is probably doing to my lungs? I have had this for years but am really not to familiar wiuth the scleroderma part they always told me to watch the lupus and raynauds. Stupid me should have kept up on all. Anyway, I feel I am facing this new development alone and thought I would get in a support group you all seem so nice and supportive. I recently applied for medicaid cause I have no insurance and was denied am now waiting for a hearing due to the new symptoms showing up. Am also seeking ssdi, still in the waiting stage of that. Well guess I have rambled enough, Hope I did not bore you all. Thanks for listening. Ginger (Spidey)

Welcome, Spidey!  We go through some quiet periods here sometimes – just jump in and ask questions or mention things anytime and folks will respond. You have way more than your share of diseases!! Amie "Spidey" <spi…@fidnet.com> wrote in message

Welcome Ginger Yes Amie is right this newsgroup has been very quiet. I belong to another NG and it is so busy with posts I cannot keep up with all of them. I have had Scleroderma for about 9 1/2 years and I also have lung involvement. There are many reason for lung involvement and different types also. Where I go to the doctors the PFT and echocardigram are done on a regular basis. I don’t know if this is true for everyone or not, but it is a way to keep close tabs on what is going on and sometimes you think you are doing good and BAM!! Something surfaces and then the diagnostic testing starts all over again. I am quite sure more people will response, but if not post some questions and you will get some answers. Welcome aboard and nice meeting you. I am in MD. Amelia Yaussy <ayau…@forcemail.com> wrote in message

Welcome, Spidey! I have scleorderma with features of lupus and arthritis also. No lung involvement to date. I’m asthmatic and have had pulmonary histoplasmosis, which left scarring. I sure hope your SSDI comes thru in short order! I’m in MO too,  the northwest section, near Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska. Take care, Nell
