Question:
Ok, knew some man would open that one.. I started over a month ago on cardizem CD…and got breast pain. NOT the fatty soft part of the boob…hmm breast.. And it hurt around the breast and into the chest wall. OK, shrugged it off as doing those stretches in PT. Now a week ago, I had to drug upped again. Man oh man the chest and breast area, again right outside the boob, is ouchy. big time…I asked rheumy and she just smiled and never really gave me an answer.. I am on the climara (hormone patch) but have been for years so that never did it. But a heating pad makes it feel better and I don’t have a long enough extension cord to use in the house and wear the heating pad all the time LOL :) My question is…..anyone ever have this even with out that drug..but thinking drug is doing it. Cardizem CD 240mg… Anyone… and do they make heating pads that you put on in the morning and runs by battery…that way it is there all the time LOL Just threw that in for a funny LOL ok, someone..help me here.. janers I do know about costo pain and this is not it…it is right where the boob meets the chest wall…both of them, and into the arm up and not into the arm pit…confused… So am I

could be, unless you’re about to lactate
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/calciumchannelblockingage… Chest pain resulting from exercise or physical exertion is usually reduced or prevented by this medicine. This may tempt you to be overly active. Make sure you discuss with your doctor a safe amount of exercise for your medical problem . <snip> Janers, looks like she started you on the max side of this med. Is that really necessary? or can you try cutting back on your PT somewhat? (and see if that helps). J

J I started on cardizem 50mg daily, ok then upped to 120mg daily NOT the CD yet. Then a month ago upped again to Cardizem 180mg because my bp keeps getting up there, she said. and the pounding was more too, from the upping of medrol and going off tenormin… That did not help so she uppped it again to 240mg. Now the pounding is less but then I am down on the medrol. I do not go to therapy anymore due to flare and they discharged me with my tens unit only. Wanted me to join the gym and I have not been able to due to the flaring of lupus. So I am not into pt or any type of exercise. Necessary J, well if the bp doesn’t come down it is, as well as last year having irregular heart beat. With cardizem so far I have regular beat and not flippy flops. I will write this all down and check with her week after next. That way I can tell if this drug has worked at all… thanks janers

Janers – there is a new product called "Thermal Care" that might be just what you neec – eight hour heat, and very unobtrusive. They are a bit expensive, but well worth the cost if they make you feel better. For a trial package you can register at their site ~ www.thermacare.com/pprp. no clue on the chest pains. I’m sorry you’re experiencing them. A cheaper method of keeping a "heating pad" there might be one of these $10 (or so) pads that have a clay material in them that can be heated or chilled. I’ve got one, about the size of a baby pillow that I use hot or cold depending on the problem. The clay makes it easily adjustable to conform to the area you need the treatment. I think I found mine at Eckerd’s or Walgreen’s (your basic pharmacy). The heat doesn’t last eight hours – maybe an hour or so. But you just nuke it for 20 seconds and it’s hot again.

Hi Janers, I have been having breast pain since going back on the pred. It is most noticeable when I bump myself. I think with me it is the prednisone. BJ-not wanting to bump boobs "janers" <rojak…@bright.net> wrote in message
