update on leg/vein pain

Question:

<<Went for a DVT and some other stuff to check on my legs, and what probably happened was that I broke a blood vessel due to exertion.  I have now put the "O" in varicose and wear compression stockings.  Also, we switched to vioxx, but I’m not sure how much it helps yet since I started with the leg wraps at the same time.>> So are you saying that had a DVT?  Well, I’m glad you’re okay now.  Hope the Vioxx works well for you.  My daughter is also on it and seems to like it.   Sandra

Response:

Oh, what a funny thought of someone trying to wrap a couple of baby cows in ace bandages would that be like steer roping or closer to hog tying? How about mummy cows for Halloween – you could use old strips of sheets. Kelly will now give us a demonstration on wrapping calves in ace bandages for therapy. Of course if the were city calves Kelly would be presenting us with The Rapping Calves with Ace Band It just got my tickle bone. Thanks Kelly for the good laugh tonight! Hello all:  I’ve been busy trying to get things back to "normal" (lol) and I have not participated much lately – although I notice I missed some fireworks. (Gee, this must be a sanctimonious day ;-) Went for a DVT and some other stuff to check on my legs, and what probably happened was that I broke a blood vessel due to exertion.  I have now put the "O" in varicose and wear compression stockings.  Also, we switched to vioxx, but I’m not sure how much it helps yet since I started with the leg wraps at the same time. All in all, I’d like to thank you for your input and information.  This is my favorite place to talk about lupus management because it is the least judgemental and most lighthearted group I’ve come across.  (Take a bow!) to our health kelly

Response:

I did, thank you ha ha.   Thank goodness you found some help here. By the way since you have compression socks, you may find that if you use baby powder or even corn starch on your legs before you put them on they will go on easier for you.  Baby powder  is the best.   But you did say wraps.  Do you get this done at therapy.  Nosey Me….
