Question:
The stuff explodes because it is glass! Better the dish than your bum! or your head – I have busted both on tile floors and the countless dishes while the kids were young, I hate tile – - but it cleans so easily!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leslie "KC" <kcdoc…@ghg.net> wrote in message

absolutely – I considered this a good "test case" – but would of course prefer to not test the tile at all in such a way.

Hi KC There is always an *upside* – at least it wasn’t dropped on your foot! Did that once to a 4 L corning ware caserole and did I see stars lol. Needless to say we had take-away that night <gr> Sal "KC" <kcdoc…@ghg.net> wrote in message

It does explode, the older stuff really blows. I placed the lid to a corning ware oven dish in my sink while it was still very hot from the oven. Ran water on it and it completely self distructed. My husband said " I don’t think it is suposed to do that" I don’t think it is either. From oven to freezer my fanny!!! Can you imagine the mess? That stuff is very sharp! That corning ware stuff should be banned! Years ago my nephew had something – unsure what triggered the fall – fall and with it came several pieces of the Corel ware crashing down from the kitchen cabinet onto the counter and then the floor. He also covered his face from the explosion!!! It exploded!!! We found shards around the corner in other rooms. He was covered in little cuts. His sister was passing through the dining room at the time and she was cut by pieces flying in there. The baby was in the den and was unharmed but there were shards around her. We found shards in the bathroom which means this stuff did a complete U. Needless to say my sister threw out every piece of the stuff she had and bought china. I went home and also threw out mine and bought china. The stuff is dangerous. It took us forever to clean the stuff up. Never saw a piece big enough to identify. I will never have the stuff in the house again. So glad you and your furry baby are OK. Big Hug! Bev "KC" <kcdoc…@ghg.net> wrote in message

I found a couple of shards on *top* of the counter – so not only did they scatter across kitchen and breakfast nook in every conceivable direction – but they managed to leap up onto the draining board too. I remember hiding my face like a bad scene from an explosive action film. Probably a good instinct. :-)

I had an experience with a corningware plate about 12 yrs ago. It was my mother-in-laws to boot! I figured since she wasn’t around and I *thought* I swept up all the shards that she’d never know. WRONG! A couple yrs later when they were moving a small cabinet, she found some evidence. OOOPPPPSSSSS I had to confess. KC I’m sure you’ll find some more shards when you least expect it. I have to admit, when you said christening, I thought maybe it was going to be an animal story.<g> dawn "Janers" <rojak…@bright.net> wrote in message
