I’ve heard it said that a mild stroke is a blessing, it’s a warning that prevents you from having the big one if not diagnosed. Of course that is very unsettling to find out you have had a stroke. Hi Everyone, I saw the neurologist today and she feels it was a mild stroke. She put me on a  aspirin a day and got me right in with a new Rheumy first thing monday  and doing brain MRI and full length MRI to make sure no pinched nerves .  The blood sugar has stayed high and my color is really bad extremely red the last few days so must be a flare on top of all of it too. She feels we need a more serious approach to this , with the stroke type stuff and diabetes now. She wants to do cytoxan after all the testing is done and see what new rheumy says.  I hate to go much higher on the pred. I know that.  She is still waiting to see bout the muscle biopsy. Kcat have you ever heard of Dr. Ruth Lucci she at at St. Johns in Nassau  Bay. I just wondered  she is who I am seeing monday. It is getting hard to see Dr. Daniels at UTMB so I hope I like this new dr. she is alot closer too.  Thanks for input you guys are so helpful I would truly be lost Cindy

Bassword~~~I’m so glad you have competent care that you feel comfortable with now.  The cytoxan therapy we can talk about later, as I am off it a month now, it didn’t work for me, but does wonders for others.  Keep your faith up!!! This is finally coming together for you!!  (((Kim)))) * Sent from AltaVista http://www.altavista.com Where you can also find related Web Pages, Images, Audios, Videos, News, and Shopping.  Smart is Beautiful

Sorry to hear about the stroke.  I have to say I’m not surprised to hear that they’ve recommended Cytoxan.  It’s the only lupus med I know of with a proven track record for dealing with CNS lupus.  It can produce tremendous improvement.   BTW, have you been tested for antiphospholipid syndrome?  (positive anticardiolipins IgG and IgM, and/or lupus anticoagulant) Sandra
