Lesions/catherine

Question:

L-Lysine tablets really help w/ mouth leisons and can be bought in any drug store.   many of my lupus friends use it and also plain yogurt to eat. xxx Jacquie

Response:

Hi Catherine: I get lesions from Lupus but I don’t think I’ve ever had just one be the sz of a dime. I’ve had several right next to each other that sometimes became the sz of a quarter… I also get the mouth ulcers, that I was told was also caused from lupus. I too take Plaquinal and Ultram, never had a problem with taking them. Course everyone is different. Have you informed your doctor? Maybe call and let him know what’s happening. I know this sounds painful but I use a little salt water and a dash of vinegar and wash my mouth out with that and it stings but it also clears up the sores and keeps my mouth from getting an infection. It’s also good to gargle with it if you have a sore throat… Hope this helps, and feel better soon! Mary/az

I read your info on mouth ulcers.  What do they look like and where exactly do you get them.  I started with a sore throat last week, went to the doctor on monday and tested for strep-negative and I have not been sick.  My throat is raw and red and now I’ve noticed a couple of pockets of puss building at the back/roof of my mouth.  The pain is unreal and I’m using Halls, they started me on Keflex and it is improving-I was just curious if this could be mouth ulcers, I’ve never had them before. I don’t see rheumy till next week. Any help is appreciated.  God Bless. Cindy

Response:

Cindy if they prescribed Keflex it is most likely strep throat. Rest and eat well, in general take extra good care of yourself for the next week. Strep has been known to leave some nasty effects on the body if not handled correctly.(And then even sometimes.) So to answer your question no these are not the lesions associated with lupus. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -CLStidham wrote: > I read your info on mouth ulcers.  What do they look like and where exactly do > you get them.  I started with a sore throat last week, went to the doctor on > monday and tested for strep-negative and I have not been sick.  My throat is > raw and red and now I’ve noticed a couple of pockets of puss building at the > back/roof of my mouth.  The pain is unreal and I’m using Halls, they started me > on Keflex and it is improving-I was just curious if this could be mouth ulcers, > I’ve never had them before.
