Latest update on Kelley

Question:

My god you’ve been through the mill; I’m so sorry, are the family members fully aware of the details of lupus, if so I think a total break from them if only for a while could only be a good idea. I do hope that things settle down for you all, Deb (UK) XX "Daniel Antonson" <Antonso…@comcast.net> wrote in message

Hi BJ, and Wes, and Everyone Else, First, my apologies for not having written in awhile, but again I need the electronic shoulder to lean on… Kelley has been struggling in her ongoing battle with lupus.  She contracted pneumonia again six weeks ago which her doctors have been treating with the strongest oral antibiotics available.  She has also developed nine more spots on her legs and those already on face and arms are flaring again. This all started when my parents gave us a hard time regarding how we were raising our daughter, Kelsey – who will be 4 on 23Jan05.  Mom and Dad use my sister’s kids as a measuring stick, but very selectively.  My sister and brother-in-law drink like fish just as my parents use to, and I witnessed first-hand their drinking and driving in May05.  A couple of weeks ago, I also learned that while Kelsey stayed with them from Dec03-May04 (because Kelley suffered a stroke, kidney & bowel shutdown and pneumonia), my mom directed my sister to have an Autism test run on Kelsey because she had speech issues.  We are addressing Kelsey’s speech issues with ChildFind’s help.  The conflict got so bad after we brought Kelsey home in June04, that this past weekend I had to sever our relationship with my parents and my sister’s family because the stress was causing unending lupus flares for Kelley.  Kelley and I are both very nervous as she nearly died on 20Dec03 from the aforementioned issues coupled with the fact that her health began to decline again when the weather started turning cold. Sorry to rant so much, Daniel
