Question:
Hi to all that read this. I am typing this message for my wife, who is currently seatting in the hospital after learning this morning that she is a type 1 diabetic. Her and I are no strangers to hospitals, as I have lupus; and have suffered many broken bones and joints, but for her, this is the first time she has spent time in the hospital overnight as a patient. I am looking and asking for any suggestion to information that may help us both understand what is going on in her life and what changes may need to be made to help her lead a more "normal life". I ask only one thing, that any response to this post be sincere. If you have any links or information that maybe helpful to us please email We thank all that will respond, and hope that you will help us as we hope someone once help you.

Hi, John. Sorry to here this. I also am T1 for several years now. On the first moments, you will sure be a little lost, just take your time, don’t stress. Your wife will learn the basics (injections, food, tests…). As Diana said, there are some good links in the address she gave you. If you have questions, you can post here, or feel free to email me. — anne.
