Question:
Have to agree with others on this. Though there are some folks that have had some positive reactions to various alternative meds/treatments. Those same folk still tend to be on traditional meds at the same time and the alternative treatments (typically things like accupuncture) are in addition to their other meds. I hope someone here can point you to a pertinent website – I don’t personally know of any but I’m sure they’re out there. Perhaps a web search would pop up some alternatives. There are things to be very cautious of as others pointed out. A general statement – most "alternative" meds do not tell you everything that is in the medication and therefore some of the "mystery ingredients" have the potential of causing problems that are not seen until the damage is done. If she is going to try anything she should let her doctor know and make sure there are no interactions, she should *not* come off her current meds without the doctors instruction and she should make sure she knows all the ingredients in the alternative med. Hi ,my name is sherry and i have lupus, My suggestion to your friend take the medication that the Dr, prescribed it’s not necesary that she will take them for life. usually they decrease them until stop. i used to take many pills and i can understand her concern. i had a big attack on 1998 took pills but now, nothing! hope, she will feel better and stop medication.

1 Many of the "usual pills" take some weeks to show any effect. 2 Some "alternative medicines" can produce nasty reactions if combined with prescription drugs 3 If she is taking steroids, it can be extremely dangerous to suddenly stop them. 4 The effects of lupus left inadequately treated can be much worse than any medication used to treat it regardless of potential side effects.

Hallo to you all. I’m Natascha and I’m making some researches for a friend of mine. She has Lupus and she would try with the alternative medicine. What do you think about it? Could it be useful? She has been trying with different pills, but it’s only destroying her body. Could you help us? Thank you.
