Hughes Syndrome and pregnancy

Question:

Hello All. I need some advice.  My partner and I have been talking about having children.  As a sufferer from Lupus, Sjogren’s and Hughes Syndromes, this will be not be straightforward.  I’m particularly concerned about the complications with pregnancy and Hughes Syndrome.  I’m told the success rate for pregnancy for Hughes sufferers has markedly improved but before I proceed with talking to doctors, I would like to talk with other sufferers about their experiences.  Thanks. Cheers, Kate

There is an excellent support group of people with Antiphospholipid Syndrome [also known as Hughes], their family and friends. Please stop by – we have an entire section devoted to pregnancy issues! http://forums.delphi.com/m/mb/banner.asp?sigdir=apsantibody -BG =)

see Delphi site on APLS syndrome.  It can be done usually on Aspirin ,sometimes heparin.  See a doctor first to make sure your kidneys work, then see a hi risk OB.  I am blessed with 7 kids (despite SLE/APLS) but it took 12 pregnancies so get busy!. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Kate Brennand wrote: > Hello All. > I need some advice.  My partner and I have been talking about having > children.  As a sufferer from Lupus, Sjogren’s and Hughes Syndromes, this > will be not be straightforward.  I’m particularly concerned about the > complications with pregnancy and Hughes Syndrome.  I’m told the success > rate for pregnancy for Hughes sufferers has markedly improved but before I > proceed with talking to doctors, I would like to talk with other sufferers > about their experiences.  Thanks. > Cheers, > Kate
