Actually it’s not a change in focus, just a change in perception.  I can see perfectly fine (except that I need to update my glasses, but I have the script), it’s just that they seem to be moving farther away, like there’s more space between us.  It’s really weird.

Hi everyone, Just wanted to let you know I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth (just yet).  My rheumy seems to think my schedule is too much for someone as sick as I am.  I think I’ll give her that, but it’s too late for me to change things now.  She finally lowered my pred dose from 60 to 40mg (I’ve been on 60 since the beginning of the year), of course this is AFTER it caused my thigh and calf muscles to weaken.  Now it hurts to walk again, but I’m going to try to strengthen them.  I will live through this. Actually, my mom and I are more under the impression that I do better when I’m stressed a little (but I do overdo it at times).  I feel worse when I’m sitting around waiting to get better.  I only wish I could do more, especially when it comes to working.  I love my job (I’m an afterschool daycare teacher), but I only work 3.5 hours a day and I could really use the cash.  I also wish I could take on more classes at school, but there’s only so many hours in the day and you have to sleep sometime. The only thing I’m currently having a problem with that I have no explanation for is a neurological one.  When I am speaking to a person, it seems as though they are getting farther away from me, even though we don’t change our positions in any way.  It appears to be a depth perception problem, but my rheumy has no explanation for it and I don’t see my neurologist until this coming Thursday.  Does anyone else have this or something like it?  If so, do you know what it is, because it’s freaking me out. Thanks, Mel
