Hello All!!

Question:

Today, was my Rheumy appt. After giving more blood than a vampire might need for the rest of its’ life. Getting my steroids, hitting a stop sign and messing up the drivers side of my Explorer, which I was supposed to turn in this week for another. Taking my mom home with me to sort through her stuff, and she decided she was too tired, having to find my dads’ lockbox key. I have accomplished nothing. I am very distressed. Been stuck more times than it should ever be necessary in a rheumatologist office, I am mad as hell!!!    And I will be taking it again!!! I was introduced to a drug rep, with Wende has a rare form of SLE, etc., yadda, yadda, yadda!!!! It has attacked her G.I. system. You all know all of this. I am just venting and so pi$$ed about the whole thing I wish someone would just shoot me!!!!!!! Ok, maybe not that. Thanks for listening. Not Laughing out loud. Wende

Response:

((((Wende)))) I’m so sorry you’re down today.  Vent away!  It definitely helps! -Sharon — Clear your mind, relax and float downstream.

It gets tiring giving blood all the time. > Getting my steroids, hitting a stop sign and > messing up the drivers side of my Explorer, which I was supposed to turn in > this week for another.

Bummer….you weren’t hurt were you?  If not, that’s the main thing. > Been stuck more times than > it should ever be necessary in a rheumatologist office, I am mad as hell!!! > And I will be taking it again!!! I understand how you feel, going to the doctors can be depressing and/or annoying.  I feel that way, not sure why really, just a reaction of having/needing to be there, when I’d rather not. Maureen

huh… how rare is it?  I mean, my sister and I would probably agree that our guts have been the worst affected by this DD.  or at least a close second to the CNS/migraine stuff.  My sister’s colonoscopy biopsies revealed high ANA and anti-dsDNA levels.  As I’ve avoided all tests gastric I don’t know about me.  But I know it ain’t no picnic (Pun intended) >You all know all of this. I am just venting and so pi$$ed >about the whole thing I wish someone would just shoot me!!!!!!! Ok, maybe >not that. Thanks for listening. Not Laughing out loud. Wende

Vent away.  if we can’t listen and commiserate, who can?  I would see about getting a proper lab to do the stick in the future. My rheumy always tells me to have my gp’s lab run the tests and the phlebotomist and I are now on a first name basis. :P `  I have good veins though. The only thing I can’t convince her is that I know how to treat the stick afteward and that I don’t need a bandage (allergic to glue on bandage).   She’s never had to stick me twice though in er – a lot of years.  Only bruised once and that was pretty much my fault. feel free to gripe any time – we need to vent or it will just drive us batty. hugs, kcat

The blood suckers do go over board on the hording of the blood don’t they. I mean you would think they would just need a small amout  to look at what ever they are looking at. Its not like their micro scope is the size of a dinner plate and they need that much blood.  I feel for you on that part o( I hate that. I am sorry about explorer,  gosh that really wasn’t your day or week. Take it easy and see ya soon, RhondaM "Wende" <n…@cox.net> wrote in message

Have you tried any of the "anti-allergic dressings" such as Melolin? LOL, you know, I almost offered to do it myself!! Finally he did stick me exactly where my finger was pointing, thus the reward of blood. I am probably lucky he didn’t stick my finger too. I told the office at the hospital I wouldn’t sue them for placing a portable unnecessary stop sign out of my line of vision in the middle of the turn onto the second floor of a parking garage.  If they agreed to pay for the damage to my SUV. They agreed. So cooler minds prevail today. I am still Pi$$ed that they would place that thing there. I wonder how many other people have hit the damn thing?
