Cranberries do the same thing, and you can eat them in so many different ways.
Response:
IMO you tank up on fluids real quick makes your kidneys work better and you flush out your body in doing this. Im also told its a dirutic (SP?) plus its summer you can find them EVERYWHERE if I find out more on why ill let ya know Paula from AL – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> From: rob-so…@mindspring.com (sbrannon) > Organization: http://groups.google.com/ > Newsgroups: alt.support.lupus > Date: 11 Apr 2002 10:28:55 -0700 > Subject: Re: Got some Good News! > Paula Love <paulalo…@comcast.net> wrote in message > <news:B8DAFF92.5FC8%paulalove3@comcast.net>… >> I have minor kidney involvement with my lupus and my doc gave me the green >> light for water and decaf tea and this may sound nuts but tank up on >> watermelon, cleans out the whole system quickly and painlessly. no good advice here – I drink only water with the occasional glass of milk (and of course my morning Ensure which is a liquid "meal") I had to give up carbonated drinks (caffeine, sugar, decaf, "diet" – can’t have any of those) and juices. Though some people can handle cranberry juice it can actually irritate the bladder so I wouldn’t go with that one. I can have apple juice in small quantities to keep from getting too bored. funny thing is – I know longer like the taste of sodas, coffee, tea… any of that stuff. good, filtered water works just fine.
