Hi Everyone has anyone else had glucose problems from prednisone my last 3 blood works were high 230 206 and today at my biopsy 166 after fasting just wondered. She wants me to see an endo dr now. Thanks Cindy W

She wants me to see an endo dr now.>> My daughter has had some mild elevation in blood sugar from the Prednisone. I’ve known others who developed diabetes from it. It’s not an uncommon reaction. One theory that I’ve heard is that Prednisone can cause a latent case of diabetes to surface a bit sooner than it would otherwise have which is why the diabetes doesn’t always go away even when the Prednisone is stopped. Cindy, When I take pred. my Blood Glucose goes sky high. I have diabetes type 2, lupus, fibro, yada, yada. I usually take pred in either a 60 mg. injection or a 3 week taper and I will have elevated BG’s about 4-5 days during that time. Having said that, I don’t know if pred. does the same thing to non-diabetics. Maybe you are beginning to be diabetic and this is the first sign? My MD said that diabetes would be certain if he put me on prednisone. One of the bad side effects of the med. Its apparently a big problem.
