"Fuzzy Head"

Question:

I have extremely fuzzy head – that’s what I call it – can’t concentrate, headaches, feeling of extreme tiredness almost exhaustion.  When my head is clear it is such a relief that I feel fantastic!  Please let me know if you have similar problems. Liz Scotland

Yup. Although I don’t always have all those symptoms at the same time. The concentration problem is probably the most frustrating, since it affects most everything I do and doesn’t seem excusable except when I also have a headache or exhaustion. I also have depression along with the inability to concentrate. Everything gets all mixed up and hard to separate. Ohhhhhhhh yeah. If it’s any consolation, my brain fog has lifted quite a bit over the last three months after two whole #*!@! years of not being able to work more than a few hours a day due to all the things you describe. I know how much fun it is to think again! Suzanne * – * – * – * – * – * – * – * – * – * – * – * – *  Suzanne Doig – remove *!* from reply-to address          http://www.geocities.com/smdnz/

My daughter who has lupus frequently gets this.  We call it "brain fog."  It’s been a big problem off and on for the past couple of years.  We notice it’s quite a bit worse when she’s flaring and better when she’s having a good day. For the most part, we’ve found the best way to get this under control was focusing on managing her lupus as a whole.  Even so, it pops up from time to time.  I think to some extent, there’s no avoiding it.   Sandra
