Question:
In Oct had the most distal joint fused, a snovial cyst removed from the other joint and a bone spur removed. Had the pin in 6 weeks, still had movement, wore the splint for 6 more, still had movement, now it just flops, after 3 more weeks I said the hell with the splint. See the hand doc tomorrow and will ask that he do what I wanted in the first place and that is cut the sucker off. Can’t use it. Both thumbs have been surgically fused but the last one took a long long time, should have been a good hint, huh? Jim

Jim, let us know how your appt turns out. I can understand your frustration as it looks like my osteotomy may not have been successful,either….after a lenghty recovery, I expected better. too. Just got back from the docs and he wants to refuse and I want it off. He put into the recorder a fusion when the pain gets bad enough but the other joint has a new huge cyst on the hand side this time. SLE does interfere with fusions, evidently as mine has.
