feeling very down at being stuck in from weather

Question:

Hugs, Lynne.  It’s the same here.  Snow & ice.  If I clean off the snow from the car, then there’s ice under that.     It has to go away though, so hang on.   Maggie

Hi, I take the same med for osteoporosis and have never had any side effects from it so I would question that being the culprit; but everyone responds differently to each med so maybe, but maybe you did react to the hair color substances too? — ((((Hugs)))) from Shelagh "herbwormwood"  wrote in message

| Hi, | On the subject of my recent illness: I had obtained some herbal hair dye, | and on sunday one of my students and her mum put it on my hair. They told | me I should not put henna on my hair (this wasnt henna) during the winter | because it causes the body temperature to drop (or something) and some | people have been very ill and died. Later that day I was feeling very cold | and shivery and took my temperature, and found it was 104. I wrapped up | warm, took some paracetamol and sat and watched a DVD and then went to | bed. The next day my temperature was still up but nearer 99-100. I | continued with the paracetamol but felt nauseous and couldnt eat anything | and didnt even feel like drinking any liquid. | Then on Tuesday the GI upset started, but my temp went back to normal, | which is usually low, for me. | Do you think it could have been the hair dye? It claimed to be all natural | ingredients. | Things are getting back to normal for me now. | One other thing, I have recently started on risedronate for osteoprosis My  consultant told me not to take it if I got GI trouble. I have now stopped | it. Could that be related? It certainly gave me some mild bother on the | days I did take it. But this latest one was more extreme. | Thanks again for support messages, | Lynne

Sending you (((hugs))) across the pond and lots of good thinks. How do you manage to buy food, etc in bad weather? Maybe you could find a young teen to do some shopping for you. Or maybe you would consider doing some tutoring just to have visitors. Or tutor the teen who is running the errands. We have adult literacy programs here, people willing to teach those who cannot read to give them a better way of life. Is there a college nearby? Could you offer to tutor or mentor a student? Just an idea. Hugs, Bev "herbwormwood" <herbwormw…@lycos.co.uk> wrote in message

Sorry to hear this. It’s starting to melt, though, so getting out should become easier tomorrow. Anyway, if your bones are brittle or thin, staying inside when the outside is all covered in ice is probably the best thing to do! — Andy [Chair, N E Lupus Group] See http://www.northeastlupus.org.uk for more!

That doesn’t work, he said from experience, unless the holder-upper is wearing crampons such as you’d need to climb Everest!  "The taller they are, the farther they fall" :) — Andy [Chair, N E Lupus Group] See http://www.northeastlupus.org.uk for more!

Hi Lynne, I can certainly relate to your feelings of isolation. We live in the country and it has been so cold here, that nobody is travelling unless it is absolutely necessary. I have not seen a neighbour for weeks now. I am a bit of a loner anyway, but this is getting rediculous. It may be worth it to take a taxi and go to a mall, even for a little while. I don’t know if you feel up to it, or can afford it. You would be able to people watch anyway, if you can manage to go. That might boost your spirits a bit. BJ-Sk. Hopefully you were not badly hurt! I had a Navy Seal for a neighbor and he fell on ice while leaving for work in the morning. He shattered his arm and wrist in a million pieces. He had pins in his arm for months. I noticed that this ice made me very aware of just how chicken I’ve become. I used to scamper and skate around on it. Not now, I walk like a tentative little old lady expecting to land on my butt any second. I used to be invincible now I’m very breakable. LOL Bev "Andy" <a…@kitzbuhel.demon.co.uk> wrote in message
