Extreme tiredness

Question:

Just back from Docs.  At the moment and or a few months now (with the odd week here and there that I feel ok) I am just so tired.  You know the thing Brain Fog as well as tiredness.  Doc says just sleep (hard when you’ve got to work for a living).  What I would really like in a perfect world is for some miracle person to say do this…..do that… and you will feel – rejuvenated.  I also have dark circles under my eyes which are making me look even worse!  Does anyone actually have the miracle cure for tiredness! Liz

Response:

Hi Liz, I sure wish I had the cure too. Fatigue is one of my biggest complaints, even when I am in a "well" period. I get a good night’s sleep, nap for at least two hours during the day, and often fall asleep on the sofa in the evening. The doctor just says that I must need it and I should listen to my body. It is such a waste of time. Any activities have to be planned for the morning. I actually feel ill if I don’t nap. I have tried to fight it, but that just doesn’t work. I still have some blood problems which will be investigated further. Perhaps that is a contributing factor. Let me know if you come up with an energizer of some kind. Could you get your doctor to write a note permitting you to negotiate a more manageable work schedule?  For most of one year I worked a four day week. (I am a high school teacher and thought this would be impossible to arrange but, surprise, my colleagues gave me the support I needed to make this work!)  Nearly depleted my sick leave, but by the end of the year I was feeling like a human and have succeeded in not letting myself sink so low again by taking sick days at the first sign of trouble. Are you careful with sun exposure?  That (even what you might consider minimal exposure) can make things bad. Find a way to get the rest your body is demanding! Hi Lizabeth I was on a high dose of prednisone 15mg (was high to me at the time ) & feeling really run down & hardly staying awake thru the day, this was about 2-3 years ago & my Rheumy suggested that I might not be sleeping properly or getting good quality sleep she had put me on Prothiaden to help me sleep I have since been getting better quality sleep & Plaquenil for the Lupus, after about 3 months I was seeing a difference.  I have since managed to stay on a low dose 4mg prednisone & seen a great improvement to what I was since then but working two part time jobs had also been running me down.  I have just given 1 of them up 2 weeks ago which I think is the ultimate answer to me enjoying life a little more. I realise that it is not possible for everyone to just chuck in there jobs to get by but I believe it was something I am going to benefit from. I really dont care if I live poorly without all the extra’s I just want to feel healthier & have less pain. Gail "Lizabeth" <l…@v6.co.uk> wrote in message
