CNS Lupus.

Question:

Bobbie, I have CNS Lupus. Over the years it has caused many problems ranging from headaches to seizures to respiratory arrests. Seizures are a common symptom of CNS Lupus. I have 2 types of seizures… grand mal & petit mal. I don’t have much personal experience with Tegretol, but Neurontin is one of my seizure meds. I have not had any ill effects of it, although some people become overly sedated while taking it. There are some great sites here online where you can research the drugs and their effects, including adverse reactions. God bless you. Krystie Rose

Response:

hi bobbie…..where do i start? in may of 95 i woke up and i thought the left side was feeling "funny" but  as i took a shower and i could not feel the left side of my face or head and then i began what was labled "stroke-like" seizures. in march of 97 after being kicked out of dr’s offices with diags of "see a pysch." or "can you control these" or even better " i can see you for your colds and flus, but not these" who was told to me by a Mayo dr., i was diag by a very nice dr who had seen me for two years as having sle. i have not found the right combo of meds to stop these seizures but i will keep trying, although there are many days when i don’t even want to be here in pain anymore.  this doesn’t help you but maybe you will feel like you are not the only one which i had felot for qutie awhile.  laurie

Response:

Hi everybody, Would anyone like to describe their experiences of CNS lupus?  How about Complex Partial Seizures as part of it?  And the effects (good or bad) of taking Tegretol and Neurontin? Bobbie.
