Question:
I tried to post on the one I wrote before but could not get it to go. You asked me about wt loss. I did loose almost 40 pounds and some of it yes is due to lupus. I also have achalasia, which is a narrowing of the esophagus and sluggish esophagus, that does not want to push food down, so it stays right above the stomach in that narrowing. I had a thing done where they opened it but I continue to eat small meals. this is the first time in my life where I can eat what the heck I want. I eat foods high in colories just to keep my wt up. My rheumy says it is due to the lupus esp since mouth sores are with it. I can generally eat what I want just small amts, and often. But again for me, wt loss is due to the lupus. I can’t answer for anyone else, but I do know personally some loopies who have the same problem. I have been on cortisone and still loose, so heck I don’t know. I just eat and hope it don’t go the other way but if it does then that is that . We do what we have to do in terms of getting along. With lupus you got a lot to handle and the depression goes with that too. I have some but on the whole usually am a very optimistic person, but still have my old panic attacks. I also think any one with an illness should see a counselor and or therapist, because there is so much for us to handle and talking it good therapy. Just like typing here, it makes one feel better to just get it out. No matter what it is. Oh boy did I get side tracked on this post, started with wt loss and then I got on a roll. LOL I do know each of us are different and our bodies are different, but that don’t mean we can not talk about it and share here. so meds do cause wt gain as well as some loss, it is just a body’s make up I guess. good yaking with ya janers
