another terrible week

Question:

Hi to everyone, Well life has decided to send some more unwanted bumps my way this week.  I recieved a call from the police dept where my ex-husband lives, they wanted all the gory details of our marriage along with details of how he treated my daughter-she no longer claims him as her father.  I had to relive the series of rapes and beating I recieved at his hand and the beatings he laid on Ashley.  The only good point is it looks like he will be going to prison soon as he had sex with some underaged girls and I can finally then get his parental rights legally ended.  SS turned me down again, the second time for that, supposedly I could still work as a bartender but how can I do that when most days I can’t feel my hands let alone control them and the Lupus is causing unbelievable pain in my wrists, ankles and hips???  Thats another thing that has me bummed, I rarely call my doctors unless it is really important and wouldn’t you that they are both out of town this week. Thanks for listening and I am hoping the next week goes better for everyone. Laura

Hi Laura! Sorry to hear about your week.  You wrote: ""SS turned me down again, the second time for that, supposedly I could still work as a bartender. . ."" Sometimes I wonder about what planet these idiots came from.  Work as a bartender?  Please!  Bartenders are constantly on their feet, and the problems you experience with your hands should rule this out.  I know a woman who worked as a waitress before she got DX’d.  They told her she could still be a hostess!  Who in the world would hire a hostess who walked with a cane!  The hostesses I worked with had to walk just as much as the waitresses.  She is appealing her case; I haven’t heard the outcome yet. Some people just don’t get it, and it’s a shame that some of them are in charge of determining SS benefits. Best of luck on this ridiculous situation.  Let us know how things turn out for you!  I will be thinking of you. Sylvia
