Need info on CELLCEPT

Question:

Hello and good morning to you. I am looking into information on cell cept.  I need all I can get for a "good" friend of mine who is weighing options for treatment of lupus.  She has three to choices right now and wants some help from me. First is   cellcept.  need to know what you think and anything you can give me or if you need to send it to my home, which I will supply address if you contact me personally. Second is bone marrow and third is stem cell.  Now these I have info on but can always use more, if need be. I am trying hard to help this lady and she is sweet and only right now has these choices IF her blood work does not start to come up. So links of what ever would be of a help Sorry to rag your brains here but people that is what this group of all about..   NO not ragging but support LOL. Have a great day and HELP janers

Hi Janers, Here is a site for you to look over.  Hope this helps. From what I hear, CellCept is fairly mild.  I don’t take it, as it came out long after my transplant. I was looking into cellcept as an option a few months back and found some interesting articles. most of them were animal studies, or all I could find were abstracts…a medical library is the way to go. when I talked to my doctors, one of them believed that it was just what I needed…the other (and more well-known for lupus treatment) said that he thought that methotrexate was doing it’s job slowly, and since I didn’t have renal involvement, cellcept wasn’t necessary.  He did seem to think it was a good drug…and from the descriptions that all of my doctors gave me, it’s an inb between of methotrexate and cytoxan – kind of like the mid-level immunosuppresant (in terms of harshness)…I don’t know if that’s a precise assessment, but it’s the impression that i was given. all the medical journals I checked with about cellcept referred to organ-involved lupus being treated…not like mine…so that was the deciding factor for me. I have an interesting article called :Therapeutic advances in SLE…I can send it to you in the mail if you get me your address…  I also have an article called:  Mycophenolate Mofetil Suppresses Autoimmunity Mortality in the Female NZB x NZW F1 Mouse model of SLE. feel free to email me at norent…@yahoo.com hope this helps. -julia "Janers" <rojak…@bright.net> wrote in message
