Question:
Hi Ellen, I am seen at Johns Hopkins by Dr. Fred Wigley. I really do like his way of treating his patients. He is kind, yet assertive. He works as though you and he are partners in your health care. He is world renown and well respected for his research and treatment of scleroderma. Also at Johns Hopkins is Dr. Barbara White. I have not seen her as a patient but she has medically reviewed a few of my pages on my site and has given me permission to reprint several articles she has written. She is also very well known and respected for her research and treatment for scleroderma. So if you live near enough to make a visit to Johns Hopkins, even if it is just for an evaluation I think you will be pleased. Of course they may not have all the answers and it may take more then a visit or two or a test or two for them to make a firm diagnosis. However, you would be in some of the best hands there are to eventually find out if you do have scleroderma. Feel free to post here or email me personally anytime. — Sherry Messick surviv…@sclerodermasupport.com ************************************************************* Surviving Scleroderma http://sclerodermasupport.com Scleroderma & Autoimmune Message Board Forums Visit: http://SclerodermaSupport.com/discussion Subscribe to the SD & Autoimmune Digest at http://SclerodermaSupport.com/digest.htm Scleroderma Foundation Greater Washington DC Serving: MD, VA and DC http://sclerodermagw.org ************************************************************* Join Us Online "Together We Can Beat The Odds" Lnburgh <lnbu…@aol.com> wrote in message

Hey Naomi!!!! I was just b*&ching about my toes looking like sausage meat packed too tightly in their casings. Are you on any medications? I know when I have to take steroids, they cause this with me. And I swear I if I could take a pin and pop myself I would. Drink lots of water, no carbonated beverages, caffine or alcoholic beverages for a few days. Call you doctor and like Mama Gi told me, put your feet up. A warm bath can help sometimes. Love and Hugs Colleen p.s. the reason I listed the types of beverages not to consume is because they cause water retention which will increase any type of swelling. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -N1Turtle wrote: > My whole body is swollen like a sausage especially my feet and hands. Hi, I not only look like the Michalen tire man that is what my doc called me when I first met her. Have not been dx with scleroderma as of yet but certainly leaning there. Doc at first felt it was Lupus but now have Lung and esphagus problems. May be heading for John Hopkins soon. Ellen

Hi Ellen! Welcome to the group, you will get the support you need here. Please let us know how you are keeping. Waiting for a definite diagnosis is very frustrating and seems to take forever. For myself, it took several years. I wish you good luck and hope you get the answers you need soon. Take care Susan – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Lnburgh wrote: > Hi, > I not only look like the Michalen tire man that is what my doc called me when > I first met her.
