celexa

Question:

Are you talking about celebrex and if not,  What  is  celexa???

Response:

Celexa, that’s the name of a prescription that my Rheumy just had me go on. It’s suppose to help with brain fog and depression from what he told me. I started taking it Monday, 20mgs a day. Now i’m taking 8 different pills, it’s no wonder I have brain fog!!!

Response:

Celexa is an orally administered selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) with a chemical structure unrelated to that of other SSRI’s or of tricyclic, tetracyclic, or other available antidepressant agents.  Celexa is indicated for the treatment of depression. I have no personal experience w/Celexa but my friend takes it w/good results (not lupus but depression).  Good luck and I hope you feel better soon! Nicole

Response:

I’ve been on Celexa for over six months, and I can’t say enough good things about it.  Be warned, though, that the ability to enjoy sex wanes considerably in the first month or so of treatment.  However, that side affect disappears after a short while, so be patient.  In any case, Celexa has kept me out of bed crying and wanting to crawl into a hole and pull it in after me.  Make sure you take it every day; if you don’t, the "downs" are very hard to deal with.  Good luck.
