Question:
is your ANA counts nornmal. Are all your liver counts high but the one that said you do not drink beer or wine. I can not spell. The doctor may want to check your cpk count. It took me over 4 years and 10 doctors to fine one that believe I was sick because my ANA count was nornmal. I could not open the door to let myself inside the house, could not go up stair, could not use a fork to cut hamburger, could not get out of a chair or bathtub. but the pain came and went and so did the problems. twelve years later a doctor said I had lupus.

Rather than bore the rest of the group with my story again… maybe you could take a look at my website and read the "my battle with Connective Tissue Disease" section. I think it certainly possible that you have some sort of autoimmune problem even without positive labs. That is an opinion only and based on your description and the fact that your daughter has severe lupus. My sister has diagnosed lupus (very high ANAs), I have "something resembling lupus". My mother OTOH has not had severe symptoms but seems to at the very least have Sjogren’s but no one has ever attempted to diagnose it – they just give her ‘fake tears’ and tell her to drink lots of water (nor will she pursue diagnosis). There are all kinds of possibilities here that the labs might not pick up. Plus what labs have been done? If you’ve only had an ESR and ANA (plus the standard CBC, SMAC, Urinalysis) then they could very easily be missing something like Sjogren’s or other AI diseases. Anyway.. take a look then take a gander at the ASL FAQ (either by looking it up in Deja News archives for this group or by looking at the following links). http://www.ghg.net/schwerpt/aslfaq20.htm or http://www.kitzbuhel.demon.co.uk/lupus/katfaq.htm My home page is http://www.ghg.net/schwerpt/mypage.htm Good luck. kcat

Sometimes hives can be related to lupus itself, though I think I’d want to be sure first that they weren’t related to medication. I was taking Celebrex for awhile too, but it didn’t seem to help the pain in my legs and feet, and I had more swelling than ever. Also, my blood pressure was crossing over from borderline to high. Maybe someone out there is like me, I have had very bad joint pains for about 2 yrs. now and lately my legs and feet are unbearable. I have been to the Dr’s only to be told I maybe hurt my foot or I’ve been on my feet too long, test have been taken and everything is normal, I feel like I am going crazy. Last year my right ankle was so bad I could,t walk on it, 2 weeks ago it was my right ankle and I am still having problems with it, at least yesterday they took an x-ray, waiting to hear what that shows. The Dr. has put me on Celebrex, twice a day. I also have suffer with hives, for no apparent reason according to the Dr’s, all test have been taken and all are just fine. My daughter suggested this web. site, she uses all the time, she is a lupus patient, but her lupus is very bad. I guess I need to know if there is someone else who hurts like I do, has swollen joints, hives for no reason and told you are as healthy as a horse, just take the medicine. Thanks for listening.
