Question:
A recent CT scan of my sinuses showed polyps. Don’t know if that’s the same as nose polyps, but as far as I know, the ones in my nasal sinuses don’t hurt. They sure contribute to blocking of the airways, though! – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -SPerloff <SPerl…@yahoo.com> wrote in message <news:3D62DF5F.1000800@yahoo.com>… > J wrote: > > Hi Sharon, > > For some reason, I can’t find "nose sores" and "lupus", maybe KC or Andy > > have something on their web pages? > > if it’s dry, could be nose polyp, I had that once, it stopped bleeding but > > from time to time it still feels sore. > > Your doctor (or even the pharmacy) might tell you some type of cream. > > http://www.aaaai.org/patients/advocate/1999/fall/nasalpolyps.stm > > I can’t remember what I was given. No, can’t think of a connection. But "just because you have lupus doesn’t mean you can’t get something else as well"

there’s nothing on the pages but it does happen. Often in conjunction with the mouth sores. I’ve had nasal sores one time during the worst of all this – quite painful and seemed to take forever to heal.

Thanks Gail! Luckily, my nose is back to it’s pain-free self today, so it probably was just dryness or something. I’ll keep this in mind just in case I get a nose sore. -Sharon — Clear your mind, relax and float downstream.

Try going to http://www3.telus.net/valleylupus/symptomslabs.html and scroll down to Lupus Symptoms Common With Flares … gives you some idea of the different manifestations during a flare including the nosebleed stuff. I too have had nasal sores during a rough go with lupus …. haven’t had to use anything other than the increased pred. at the time which seems to do the job for me. Hi Sharon and everyone! I haven’t posted for quite a long time (at least a year) but couldn’t pass this one up. Those darn nose sores have been a big problem for me for more than 20 yrs. In fact they were my first real symptom of "something wrong". I get them really bad, inside the nose now, but I used to get them on the outside of the nose, on top even. They hurt like he** and take forever to go away. The worst part of it are the swollen glands under my chin and high fever that come along with them. I look all swollen around my face, my reummy says they are the same rashes I have on my hands and feet. I am glad to see you are feeling better now. Susan

The ones I get on the very inside edge of my nose look as if I had been picking at it. They get scabby and sore, and take forever to heal up. Salve helps. "SAppl38220" <sappl38…@aol.com> wrote in message

Thanks, I will try that. I still don’t know if it’s a sore, or maybe just dry air in the appt causing trouble. I guess time will tell. Either way, the petroleum jelly should do the trick. -Sharon — Clear your mind, relax and float downstream.

Thanks J. I had never heard of nose polyp before. I’ve also never had a full-blown nosebleed ever (knock on wood!) I’ve had some blood on the tissue when I blow my nose, but never that runny mess of blood out the nose, thank goodness. Hopefully, I never will. :) -Sharon — Clear your mind, relax and float downstream.

Hello, Today, I woke up from a nap, and my nose was hurting in the right nostril. And this morning, when I blew my nose, there was some blood. Is this typical of nose sores, and what can I do if they are. I never had a nose sore before, or at least I never knew if they were there, and I don’t know how to tell if there’s a sore or maybe it’s just dry or something. TIA -Sharon — Clear your mind, relax and float downstream.
