Has anyone experienced hair loss as a plaquenil side effect?

I have taken plaquenil and I have lost my hair three times over a period of the 35 years that I have had lupus which was diagnosed when I was 12. However,my doctor told me that the hair loss was the result of lupus flare-ups and not the plaquenil. The good news is that the hair does grow back although it does take a while. l…@cnct.com (Lauri Goldman) ——————-==== Posted via Deja News ====———————– http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Post to Usenet

Yes, hair loss is one of the many symptoms of lupus. Both times I had really bad flareups, I lost a lot of hair. And since I wasn’t on Plaquenil at that time, it certainly wasn’t the drug. I had a funky two-level hairdo for a while while it was all growing back. As long as your scalp doesn’t scar, the hair should come back. — Lee M.Thompson-Herbert KD6WUR l…@crl.com Member, Knights of Xenu (1995). Chaos Monger and Jill of All Trades.
