To be honest with you Doe, I can’t remember what the ranges are for TSH and T4 levels…. And it depends on what kind of measuring system the lab uses for the lab values. You could phone your lab, Drs office and ask them to tell you the "normal ranges"…

I know the range…looked it up on my previous blood profile, but it seems…by info I found on the net, that it is somewhat a matter of opinion of the dr. whether to medicate at levels less than 10 for TSH. ( of course taking into consideration the T4 level.) I forgot to ask her for the T4, as I didn’t know as much about it when I was talking to her. Doe, I am so glad to see you posting again. I miss you when your not here. I adore having friends all over the world. The only thing I hate about it is that we don’t often get to talk live. Those live interactions on ICQ are great. My DH is even thinking of getting ICQ. As far as the Thyroid goes, I was tested for that earlier this year. I had ALL the symptoms and a family history. I was also tested for a few other things. The doctor said if they tests came out negative we had to test for MS and Lupus. All the tests were negative. I was scared so I put off seeing the doctor. The Thyroid symptoms went away because I started washing with Dove soap and using a lot of Eucerian cream. I noticed that in the summer the skin problems got better. Turns out the headaches, sleepiness, dry skin, bad skin, breaking nails etc.. were all due to STRESS. They went away all summer and now they are all coming back. I was tested for Lupus a few years ago…and it was negative. At that time I was under a lot of stress with being caregiver for my mother and step-dad.
