Lori, if any of your problems cleared up on prednisone, then it isn’t fibro. Fibro isn’t helped with prednisone, from what I have been told.  I would try to get in to see a good neurologist and let them run the tests.  Then, if the neuro can’t help, go back to the rheumy.  I hope you can find someone soon.  HUGS~ Jenn/NC "loki" <lori.hamm…@ilitchholdings.com> wrote in message

List of names on dartboard – close eyes (making sure no one is in your line of fire) and let that dart fly.  <smirk> Seriously though, you can contact your nearest chapter – many keep a list of doctors that treat lupus specifically though they can’t recommend a particular one (legally speaking).  A talk with members of your nearest support group can often result in good information re: various docs.  I know who *not* to see and I know two or three that are considered good and compassionate.  Though one does have to keep in mind that even great docs can have personality clashes with patients so patient opinions are not infallible re: the quality of a doc. >to feel odd.  The blind spots last anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes at a time. >They look like those waves that hang over hot roads in the summer,

this could be "ocular migraine".  even if you don’t get pain following the visual disturbance. *********************************** KCat – I am not a medical professional.  The contents of this post are based soley on my experiences and opinions http://www.ghg.net/schwerpt/mypage.htm http://www.ghg.net/schwerpt/aslfaq20.htm   ("`-”-/").___..–”"`-._   (`6_ 6  )   `-.  (     ).`-.__.’`)    (_Y_.)’  ._   )  `._ `. “-..-”   _..`–’_..-_/  /–’_.’ ,’ (()),-”  (()),’    (((.-’

Lori, Don’t know many neurologist in the Detroit area, but do know of one at the Cleveland clinic.  She is good and could maybe help you.. If you would like a number I can give it to you.  I know it it a long way there, but darn worth it… Did your doctor get one for you and you are wondering if he or she is good. I suggest you call the nearest good hospital and talk with the staff on the neuro department and maybe they can help you.  Ask for the nurse manager of neurology or the head of the department of nursing…I am sure they can help janers

Oh, Loki… I got to see my neuro for the first time. The increased pressure behind my ears isn’t allergies, nor is it inner ear… I have had that "weird" feeling you are talking about. Slurred speech mostly and quite embarassed today when I was unable to recall my medicines. It made me highly upset. Hang in there and blessings your way. Ok,  how does one go about finding a good neurologist.  I live in the metro Detroit area and my rheumy says I should go because of the weird symptoms I’m having.  I am thinking they are more lupus now than fibro,  because when she put my prednisone up to 15mg I was far less anxious and unsteady feeling.  Also I have been having strange things like blind spots in my eyes and tingling in arms and fingers that is not the result of putting myself in an odd position.  The tingly feeling only lasts about a minute and goes away,  but sometimes it feels numb for longer,  not totally numb but enough to feel odd.  The blind spots last anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes at a time. They look like those waves that hang over hot roads in the summer,  I’ll be looking at my computer screen and can only see parts of it.  (I had my eyes checked for vision and disease and they are OK,  20/20 and everything.) Also I have a lot of dizziness and confusion.  I know that can be fibro fog but this time it seems different,  and it cleared up a lot with prednisone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you. Lori
