You might want to read up on antiphospholipid syndrome. My daughter has similar probems with her lupus. She also suffers severe headaches and has had a TIA (she’s only 14). Recently her anticardiolipin levels came back positive for both IgG and IgM which combined with her other symptoms looks more suspicious for this syndrome (something common in conjunction with lupus, though not necessary unique to lupus as you can get APLS alone). Anyway, my daughter occasionally consults with a neurologist, and takes a couple of medications for her migraines. Between the migraine medications (Midrin and Pamelor) and the lupus medications (IV Cytoxan and Prednisone), we seem to have much reduced the number and severity of the migraines she’s been getting, though we haven’t been able to eliminate them.
