Question:
I tend to agree, looks like a flare. A bit oo soon for the imuran to be doing much. At about 6-8 weeks on it, I had a reaction which I think was a flare – fevers joiint pain, sweats fatigue sed rate skyrocketed, but we had started on a pretty high dose of imuran. Knocked it back and it all went away. Sailing smoothly on 100mg since. I guess imuran is poss. but as I said I think its too soon Lyndal "BJ" <B…@sk.nojunk.ca> wrote in message

I didn’t think Imuran would be doing anything so quick, but I thought I might ask the "experts" <grin> Thanks all. I’ll give dr a call in the a.m. Maybe we have to up the pred for a while. I’ll keep you all posted. dawn "Petty" <bwpe…@bellsouth.net> wrote in message

Hi all, I started Imuran on 8/23. Last week my legs/knees/ankles/ started hurting like the dickens. Affects the way I’m walking! Stairs? don’t ask. Never had leg problems so bad – that I can remember. (My mother, who has RA used to say she wished she could just cut off her legs – I think I understand why now.) Wrists are also on the blink. Brain fog, lack of concentration, brain farts… really bad. Fatigue increased. Since I’ve never taken Imuran before, I was curious if I can expect my syptoms to get worse before getting better, or if I am truly flaring?? Flares used to be like this, but with the meds, I guess I just want to make sure. This is main reason I haven’t been here in awhile. By the time I get home from work, to exhausted to think anymore. I’ve got off today, Labor Day here in states, so I’m catching up on the posts. TIA for any input. dawn

Hi Dawn, I’m on Imuran for UC. The people on the newsgroup were kind enough to let me visit here, as I have some Lupus-like symptoms, that as of yet, haven’t been diagnosed. <snip> > Flares used to be like this, but with the meds, I guess I just want to make > sure.
I’ve heard that you can have a reaction to Imuran with very bad joint problems, but I don’t know how common that is. Maybe a worsening of the Lupus? Not sure….it usually takes a few months for the Imuran to kick in (3 to 6 months) – were you on Prednisone before? The Imuran will boost the Prednisone somewhat, but if you’ve just come off Prednisone you can also have joint problems. Have you checked with your doctor? Probably someone else here can help you better than I can. — Regards, Maureen e-mail: rabzNOMORES…@telus.net Remove NOMORESPAM from address

Hi Dawn, I really doubt that it is the Imuran. The problem might be that Imuran takes 3-6 months to be fully effective. It took almost the 6 for me. We were about to go to chemo, but it started working just in time. I do think you have a flare going there. I hope I am wrong about that. BJ-Sk. Canada "dawn" <kend…@samlink.com> wrote in message
