Question:
((She)) I absolutely hate feeling this way. Thats why when I woke up and padded down into the kitchen, I was so surprised at how alert I felt. I haven’t felt this way in weeks! Sleeping and hurting all of the time does a number on us emotionally as well a physically. Just feeling awake and un-fatigued enough to shake the rugs on the deck is a big deal for me. I am so sorry you are feeling crummy. >I will probably end up taking a ‘decadron’ which I have on hand for >these times.
What is this. It sounds good and I hope it does the trick so you can enjoy your day and get some relief. I know exactely how you feel dear! We are with you. Hugs, Susan
Response:
>That’s SO great Susan!! Enjoy, but don’t overdo it!! Keep the good >news rolling!
Thanks Sharon, I almost went to work at the store today but dh said no and he sent in. So I can enjoy my day (its like spring in northern Minnesota-62 degrees, birds are singing) I am going to Target to buy a new coffee pot, my Bun went to heck. Hugs, Susan
Response:
Decadron is a synthetic steroid like prednisone, only more powerful (about 10x more) and is used intravenously during surgery and emergencies more often than taken orally (what I was told by my doc). However there are some dentists that give it to their patients post oral surg. and it makes for less pain and less stress physically… I don’t know how it affects the healing time in the mouth though.. my doc of 23 years used it himself for the dental work and swore by it for his ‘lupies’ and his ‘autoimmune illness patients’ like MS and RA patients, for the really bad days when you are on maintenance dosage pred and it isn’t covering the flaring symptoms. It takes care of the inflammation and allows for a more pain free existence… which is great by me! Ask your doc about it… the beauty of it, is that you don’t have to take more than one pill and then don’t have any weaning down afterwards and yet you get full effects of it’s anti inflammation powers. — Hugs from Shelagh http://continue.to/lupus "SAppl38220" <sappl38…@aol.com> wrote in message

Of course this is unrelated; but on my worse days, I wake up and when I put my feet on the floor, it’s like the balls of my feet are a bit swollen (probably with inflammation of some sort), and so it feels a bit weird to walk around on them… Grace.
Response:
My feet have been feeling like that lately. But the swelling or whatever it is doesn’t seem to be going away and really isn’t visible. Sherry "Grace Casselman" <gr…@casselman.net> wrote in message

Ditto! (me 3!!) no swelling and definitely invisible but they feel ‘fat and sore’ and only on the balls of them… kinda like walking on two sore small cushions? and how nice to know I am not alone you 2 <g> See this ‘me too thingy’ really works!

they probably are. My left foot where it has been sore for some time is noticeably changing. Doc said she could tell that it was inflammed. oddly – she also asked me if I’ve "always had so little padding" on my feet? well, gosh, never thought of it. Hubby said, yup, he’d noticed but thought it was just weird ol’ kittycat. I’m thinking that having lost too much weight and lost muscle – that’s what they’re picking up on. and why I have to wear thorlos and skecher mules around my carpeted house else be in pain. I had noticed that I lost a shoe size or two compared to when I was 132 lbs. didn’t know feet could get fat, eh? k

Yeah, for me it’s usually just a morning thing, and not every day. But it’s an odd sensation… Grace.

Don’t I know that blank look!! (Although I haven’t brought this particular symptom up, there are always bigger things to deal with!) I certainly don’t know the official answer, but I do know that inflammation in the body causes extra fluid, and I suspect it just drains down to the bottom of my feet at times. That’s my theory… Grace.

Thanks Shelagh. I will ask my doc about it. Hope it helped you to feel better today. Hugs, Susan

So this is good indication even before you pull yourself out of bed that it’s going to be a bad day!? Yuk. I don’t have swollen feet, just rashes. Hugs, susan

That’s it! That’s the medication that my nephrologist is going to give me in place of prednisone in the event I ever need the stimulation test again. I don’t want to crash like that again. Perfect Wes! It works so well and you don’t have to worry about a crash after taking it… you can just stop after one or 2. I am so glad you have an answer for that! Stay well! — Hugs from Shelagh http://continue.to/lupus "Wesley" <johnjohnston2…@msn.com> wrote in message

O.K. BJ- I’ll stop complaining. Actually I’m thankful for the couple of really nice days we had. Now I just have to figure out how to deal with the puppy and her muddy feet all spring. Fun Fun! Hugs, Susan

I too have spent most of this past week in my ‘robe’, going from computer chair to couch to bed and so on…. feeling crummy with a capital C. I have been fighting increasing pred. and I think I won… but my lungs (copd) are protesting badly (boy, I am relating to Michael big time!) and I am so short of breath that I am pooped after sorting and folding laundry! I feel like a 80 year old instead of 50! and I say 80 because even my Mom at 75 doesn’t feel like this! ever!! You are right Suze…. can’t live with or without… so what are we to do? I will probably end up taking a ‘decadron’ which I have on hand for these times.. it allows me the steroidal relief without having to wean down afterwards… a 10mg. dec. is equal to about 30-40 mg pred is what I was told. So I get a burst of energy and feeling good and then it winds down at the end of the day… allowing me a day out or however I choose to use it… I think this time I will just lie back and ‘feel good’ doing nothing except ‘feeling good’.. what a nice change that would be! and I wish the very same for you! — Hugs from Shelagh http://continue.to/lupus "SAppl38220" <sappl38…@aol.com> wrote in message
