Kristin, what good news you got from your doctor. It is a good idea for all of your docs to visit about your case with eachother.  That way they are all on the "same page" I have some mighty bad GI problems, etc. My gallbladder shut itself off and I had to have it removed. No stones, just a small tan organ that had shut its little self down. Boy was I sick!   The wings are a great idea for your daughter. I hope she gets to "solo" this weekend. Hi all, Just to let you know- cardiologist says that my heart sounds good for now- no worse at all.  He said it will act up when I’m running a fever, so that’s why it was bad last week.  He’ll see me again in 3 months unless the meds stop working again.  He said that as long as my heart rate is under 120 at rest he’s not too upset.  He’s used to me being tachy all the time.  Of course, he wants me to still see that surgeon, but I’m not quite ready… he’s glad I’m reconsidering the surgeries. He wants more information on Lupus and Connective Tissue problems and the links to heart problems- he’s going to meet with my rheumatologist…  Also he wants me to look into getting an appointment with his GI guy and wants me to know any links with connective tissue problems and the GI…  so I can ask the right questions when I see him regarding the MCTD. A friend mentioned to me today that her daughter’s gallbladder just "quit" one day and she had almost all of the same symptoms as I.  Ever heard of this?  That would be a quick fix if it were just that.  And a relief! I found silver wings for Brittany’s bomber jacket… the gift for her solo (probably going to happen this weekend).  And we found the "perfect" shoes and jewelry for the formal she’s going to on Friday. Gotta run-  I’ll have to catch up on everything later… Thanks for being there, Kristin

Stones can be asymptomatic for years.  Some people have them and die with them (in other words, never have problems and die from something else) and/or have problems but they don’t think to check the GB. So maybe can just quit but usually symptoms first chest or other pain -( right side), trouble with certain foods, usually greasy.  Might be confused with heart type symptoms, maybe fevers, but not signs AFAIK (like tachy) But maybe high enough fevers can cause tachy? http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000264.htm Inflammation of the GB In 90% of cases, acute cholecystitis is caused by gallstones in the gallbladder, which obstruct the duct leading from the gallbladder to the common bile duct (which drains into the intestine). Severe illness, alcohol abuse and, rarely, tumors of the gallbladder can also cause cholecystitis.<snip> So Lupus or any chronic severe illness could maybe account for the other 10%? In the ducts http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000274.htm http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001138.htm Me I fooled them, I didn’t have pain near the breast bone, I had near lower right rib and out the back.  No vomiting, so that was part of why it took so long to get dx’d and fixed.  The other reason was doc back then didn’t believe and run X-ray for it. But maybe high enough fevers can cause tachy? I too can get tachy and end up with extra propanolol and some digoxin when I have a fever over 100.5. Some people are more sensitive to higher fevers, neurologically, than others. Similar to some young children having febrile convulsions and others having no problems with fevers…. one of the differences  between my son(who did convulse)  and my daughter (who breezed through fevers), in fact.
