Dry, Sensitive Eyes

Question:

Have you been checked for a disorder call Sjgerons.  It causes sever dry mouth and dry eyes.

For those who want to research this condition and its connections with systemic lupus erythematosis and other auto-immune disorders, the spelling is Sjogren’s, and there are two dots over the "o".                                                           –Noel

Response:

Last summer I started a new job and found myself working for a real jerk and my stress level was VERY high almost ALL the time. I developed all the symptons of Sjogrens and went in to have myself tested. The test was negative and the symptoms went away eventually, they lasted about 2 months in all. This year I started a new job that I really enjoy, but the stress level is somewhat high. I developed red spots that looked like very dry skin all over my body. They eventually went away. My point is that stress could possibly be a factor (maybe). Good luck on finding a solution to your dryness, I know how you are feeling! dave calhoun – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Have you been checked for a disorder call Sjgerons.  It causes sever dry mouth and dry eyes. Have you been checked for a disorder call Sjgerons.  It causes sever dry mouth and dry eyes. An eye Dr. can try an anti-inflammorty drop, Valteren. There is also Coritzone called FML drops which may help. I have the same condition, but my cause is Lupus. The important thing is to find out the cause of the dry eyes first. Then once the under lying cause is found then you can work to solve it.   Right now your only treating the symptoms. (Which I know at this point is very necessary!) I was offered the plugs, but it sounded so drastic!  My, eye get worst at times, then they get better. I can also tell you that Mariajauna is very helpful for the soreness and tiredness cause by the muscles of the orbit of the eye having to work too hard. Sylvia

You may also have a beta carotene deficiency. Most Americans do. This can be rectified with a diet change. If you’re interested, drop me a line at Craig Boardman http://nethomes.com/alter.health/overview.html

- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Do any of you know of a effective treatment for extremely dry, sensitive eyes.  My eyes constantly hurt.  Drops have very little effect.  I’ve had my punctal drains closed, but that only made my eyes ache extremely bad. I have just started to take a large daily dose of bilberry extract (240mg/day).  I just started today so I don’t know whether it will work or not. Do any of you know of other treatments or have any suggestions for me? Thanks. Steve Mathison

Dehydration dries the eyes out – drink a lot of water. Have you been tested for diabetes?  High sugar levels will make my eyes feel this way.  Refresh eye drops have helped. Debbie — <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< John & Debbie Burns Come visit Beulah Land at: http://www.beulahland.com/

I read that dry eyes could be an indication of the vitamin A deficiency. sensitive (redness and such) eyes could also mean a B2 deficiency.  might wanna take them as supplements. Darius
