DiagnosticTesting for MS Questions

Question:

I agree, it helped me when I was first dx and I go there often when I have questions. I found Paul’s site the day I was told MS and am forever grateful for it On 5 Jun 2002 10:32:19 -0700, debbi…@earthlink.net (Debbie R) wrote: |>> Your neuro should direct you……and do read Paul’s web site. Debbie, I know you are confused. After lots of reading and talking to folxs, I have came to realize that dx MS, in it’s early stages, is an elimination of other things. I feel a MRI is a must…..a spinal tap can be painful (it was very bad for me) and will not show much ubnless you are having a relapse at the moment. I am not sure it is necessary, but it is up to you. If your MRI comes out negative, most people have to wait and see if problems show up again or other symptoms show to know where to go next. If your symptoms are similar to what is common to MS – it’s a wait and see game. If you have symptoms that are uncommon to MS, it will require other tests to determine it. Remember, IF you have MS, you may go many, many years and never experience another thing! If you have some leisons on your MRI – it is good to have a blood test done to try to find out if it is or isn’t other things – like lupus for one. Your neuro should direct you……and do read Paul’s web site. He had the best one out there, in my opinion. On Tue, 04 Jun 2002 00:42:08 +0100, Paul Jones <jones.p…@btconnect.com> wrote:
