Question:
My 17 year od daughter was diag. with SLE last year this week and isnt doint very well. they just changed her med from Imuran to Cellcept. anyone have any expierence with this medication The side effect profile seems t be the same. thanks Jacqui
Response:
My daughter has been on CellCept, since last July. She has done pretty well on it. She has shown alot of improvement & was able to have her prednisone lowered from 20mg. to 15mg, to 10mg., & now down to 7.5mg daily. & hopes to go down to 5mg when she goes back to doc. She experienced no significant side effects, but after about 4 or 5 months, she needed to double the dose, as her symptoms were returning. She has CNS lupus & previously had 3 monthly doses of IV Cytoxan. She also takes Plaquinel 400mg. Good luck with this medicine. I hope this has been helpful. Ruth
Response:
We are looking for anyone with lupus related illness who is being treated with CELLCEPT. What type of results are you getting? How are the side effects? We have just finished a two month course of Imuran only to find the kidney problems still getting worse. Any response is appreciated. ———–== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==———- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
Response:
I have no personal knowledge of cellcept, but I believe some of the Wegener’s Granulomatosis patients in the U.K. have been treated with it. I will copy your inquiry to the WG e-mail group and ask people to answer you directly. —
