Can some answer this ?

Question:

I have spent many long hours in allergy testing for myself and my 2 daughters. It was quite profound to feel and to watch others get ‘moody’ when they were reacting to a test. We are surrounded by many things that affect our central nervous system.   Early morning symptoms, for me, was even related to low blood sugar, from not eating for several hours. There are several books that library has, if interested please let me know. Prayers are with you, Zinn

Response:

whenever you are tired, of course you are short tempered.  your emotions are right below the surface.  you need to rest more.  try taking care of yourself better.  leisurely shower or bath in the evening.  boring reading material before bed.  do not watch tv in your bedroom.  do not lay in the bed more than 1/2 hour if you are not sleeping by then, get up and go out to watch something boring on tv.  i sometimes don’t test positive for a lupus flare, but i still have problems, especially if i am in the sun or drive for more that 10 min at a time.  i sometimes take tylenol pm before my normal bedtime.  GOD GIVES US ONE DAY AT A TIME.

Response:

Pain can do some pretty weird stuff. When I’m in severe pain I am angry or upset with everyone around me. I do agree that it is probably due to your pain, but you should probably discuss it with your doctor. Also, how recently did you stop taking your meds and which ones were you on? If you were on Prednisone, that could be a part of it as well. Good luck. Krystie Rose

Response:

It’s a rather vague symptom unfortunately.  You could just be sick and tired of being sick and tired…  or you could be experiencing inflammation of the tissues around the central nervous system which can alter your mood and your brain chemistry.  Typically depression is more in keeping with this but there’s nothing to say that anger couldn’t be a part of that. I don’t know if you’re male or female.  If you’re female, my thought would be to also consider if your hormones are starting to fluctuate. Technically, it can happen in males too… just more common in females.  I have "rages" – but they are highly cyclic and definitely connected to my hormones.  They are more than anger fits – they are extreme rage during which I become self-abusive verbally and physically.  I’ve had them for about 10  years or more – so it’s not the illness, just my hormones.  I’ve been on a low-estradiol pill for a number of years which helps to even these out *some*. I would discuss this with your doc.  Since you say you’re not on meds (I assume this includes pred) then this one may be hard to track down.  But there are hormone level tests for both men and women that might yield answers and it may be as simple as going on an anti-inflammatory for a while. BTW, you probably already know this… but your blood tests are not an infallible test of disease activity unfortunately.  A lot of docs use that… but it simply isn’t completely reliable.  I have perhaps more symptoms and as much or more pain than my sister, yet her ANA is extremely high while mine has never gone above 1:320 (in tests.. perhaps without my knowing though).  And I’ve never had any other positive blood tests.  So… it’s possible to have active disease without it showing up in your antibody levels. Can you take naprosyn or something similar.  You might experiment before you go to a doc.  If you can take an NSAID, try it for a few days and see if any of these symptoms lessen.  You may find that inflammation, even at low levels is what is causing your tiredness, your anger and other discomfort. hope this helped some? kc cat DarlinVicl…@webtv.net wrote: > Lately I have had anger fits,….when I wake up in the morning nothing > seem to go right…I feel like thowing things..but I don’t… I can not > talk to anyone in a civil manner, so I just keep quiet..I have not been > on any meds for my Lupus lately so it can not be that…I have been > hurting a lot lately  and very tired…..went in for test and it showed > that my lupus was not active……I don’t know if I should take > something for pain if that is what is causing me to be so angry I do not > sleep well at night but do in the day time….If I try to stay awake > during the day it is hard…and I get a head ache…..can anyone help me > figure this out…….thanks………
