sun exposure

Question:

Could somebody please explain the importance of staying out of the sun, if you are diagnosed with Lupus, or even a borderline positive result? I cannot find much information on exposure to the sun, what the side effects are? thanks. Sue.

Response:

Some people do not react to the sun as others do with this disease. What actually happens if you do react is that the protein in the nucleus of the cell itself if destroyed. This then causes a reaction of forming antibodies that are carried in the blood all over the body. This can be especially detrimental to the kidneys. Boaz Robinzon posted a clearer picture of this several weeks ago, under the title"photosensitvity". You can access his knowledge about lupus (he lost his wife to this disease just one year ago, and is a PH.D in experimental Endocrinology) at deja.news.com. Many of his responses are listed there. Sun exposure can be detrimental to you and you may not realize it at the time. SusanRn
