Have your wife get her thyroid checked. The symptoms you are talking about can be *very* closely related to thyroid problems and if she has a slow thyroid it will definately effect her ability to concieve. There is some info on Mary Shomon’s "Thyroid Mining Co" website that you might be interested in checking out. Good Luck, and Happy Hollidays! Does your wife have antiphospholipid antibodies?  This could be why she’s having a hard time conceiving.  Check out http://www.infotech.demon.co.uk/HS.htm to learn more.  Best wishes to you and your wife Karena ke…@aol.com "It is only with the heart one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye" -Antoine de Saint-Exupery

First, take the time to talk this over thoroughly with your Rheumatologist. Second, see a good OB/Gyn.  Your wife’s pregnancy would be by definition a high risk pregnancy although she may actually have no problems.  She should be monitored closely.  Each woman’s response to pregnancy is individual.  Some women flare some women go into remission.  It is the nature of this disease to be unpredictable.  There is also in some cases an increased risk to the baby either from meds or from complications due to the disease itself which is why you want a good team on your side.  Good luck.
