Question:
Please take me off your mailing list. I had only heard of lupus and wondered what kind of a disease it is. My heart goes out to those of you suffering from it but I have nothing to contribute to the support group. Thanks

Hi Imogene, This isn’t a mailing list… This is a Usenet newsgroup. but even it if were, no one can take you off a mailing list or a Usenet newsgroup (two totally different things) but yourself. If you need help in getting "unsubscribed" from this newsgroup – check the Help files for the software you are using. Look for "unsubscribing" or "newsgroups" or "discussion groups" or "Usenet". If this was intended for a mailing list *instead* of being posted to alt.support.lupus, then you must contact the mailing list administrator, not the members of that list, for instructions on how to unsubscribe. If you need any more help, please be more specific about what software you are using to access this group – perhaps someone who uses the same software (I know Netscape, Internet Explorer 4, and Agent) can tell you how to unsubscribe. If you were intending to email this to an actual mailing list then send me a copy of an email you have received from that mailing list and I will try to show you who the list admin is and how to contact them. That said, it is durn near impossible to "post" to a mailing list or "email" a newsgroup (unless the newsgroup is of a very special moderated type – which this one isn’t.) Unfortunately the two terms are used interchangeably – and incorrectly. [that last paragraph was for everyone's edification] HTH, KCat posted and emailed for clarity.
