Question:
Does any one have lupus SLE and ulcerative colitis or any other irritable bowel disease? Just curious if I was alone in the world?
Response:
You are definately not alone! I have been having terrible trouble with GI problems. It is ulcerative colitis that started bleeding, so the GI doctor made me stop my ibuprofen-within a week I could not move, the pain was soooo severe. He agreed to try Celebrex-I however am still having problems. My rheumatologist will take me off the Celebrex if it continues but for now along with all the other drugs, they have me on Levsin for intestinal cramping and I’m also using Metamucil twice daily just to try and coat the GI tract from all the other drugs. Although in the last biopsy done-it showed more lupus problems than reaction from drugs. Let me know if I can help anymore. God Bless. Cindy
Response:
You are not alone. I have had lupus for about six years. Just in the last couple of years I began having lots of bowel problems. My stool has shreds of tissue and mucus in it. The prednisone helps sometimes. I try to be careful of what I eat but that doesn’t always work. The cramping, bloating and urgent diarrhea keep me close to home. I have tried other meds but they don’t seem to make much difference. It comes and goes just like everything else. This disease really sucks. Barbara
Response:
I am seeing a lot on the IBS group about how taking Caltrate Plus or a generic with the same formula has been almost like a miracle drug for dealing with diarhea and the other problems that go along with it. They say take it with each meal. helen Jeff and Barbara Hopkins wrote in message <7l6n3g$94…@news2.ee.net>… – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->You are not alone. >I have had lupus for about six years.
