Ever been checked for antiphospholipid syndrome?  It can cause severe migraines accompanied by vision disturbances.  It’s also common with lupus. Sandra

Every time I read this I think "there are doctors that treat something called "3rd eye"??? :)   >to 16[LOL]—But in the meantime I have fially gotten well enough >yesterday to get my flu shot-finally!!!YEAH!!

Great!   >! As far as this goes this new ground for me–Should I be worried >and what is this all about now?

Worried?  No.  But it is something to consider especially if you have any indicators of CNS lupus.  I’m surprised they (and we) didn’t think of this before.  The optic nerve can have problems with SLE though I can’t say in what way – just know I’ve seen something about it before. Best of luck on this.  You’re in my prayers. *********************************** KCat – I am not a medical professional.  The contents of this post are based soley on my experiences and opinions http://www.ghg.net/schwerpt/mypage.htm http://www.ghg.net/schwerpt/aslfaq20.htm   ("`-”-/").___..–”"`-._   (`6_ 6  )   `-.  (     ).`-.__.’`)    (_Y_.)’  ._   )  `._ `. “-..-”   _..`–’_..-_/  /–’_.’ ,’ (()),-”  (()),’    (((.-’

Well, KCat, there are three ways of looking at it, one of them being connected with the pineal gland. ;-)  Anyone want to take on the other two? to our (holey) health kelly

I asked my husband about this third eye.  He said, "Iowa."  "Huh?"  "Iowa.  You know, Illinois, Indiana and Iowa." to our (geographic) health kelly

How has he ruled this out?  I do know that lupus itself can cause damage to the eyes.  My optometrist showed me pictures of a few things autoimmune disease can do.  Whatever it is I hope you get answers soon and get relief.  This sounds very disturbing to say the least. >Well wll have to wit to see[no pun intended-LOL] Sorry for lenghtp >but thats just me –log and drawn out,

AMEN!  I couldn’t agree more.  Not a few hours of terror have been endured by doctors who called me personally with results (or nurses who said "the doctor wants to speak with you in person")  only to find out that it was something incredibly minor (in one case my cholesterol was 228 ooooohhh scary! ) make them give you the info!  If they want to speak to you privately they should just say "you need to schedule a follow up" or something innocuous like that rather than "your MRI isn’t normal but I won’t tell you anymore now…"  that may be a cop-out too – him stalling for time while he tries to understand what’s going on. who me? cynical?  nahhhhhhhhhhh.

Once a doctor called my husband to give him our daughter’s test results.  My husband was in the ICU at the time though (he’d had a heart attack).  I told the doctor this and he responded that under the circumstances, maybe he should wait.  Right then, I knew there was something wrong with the results.  At that point, there was NO WAY he was going to put me off.  Despite the bad timing, I just HAD to know.  I look at it this way…you can’t deal with something effectively when you don’t have enough information.  It’s even worse when you KNOW something is wrong, but not what.  What you imagine is invariably a lot worse than the reality.  Anyway, I guess what I’m saying is that I wouldn’t take no for an answer when it comes to getting those test results.  Moreover, I’d want to see the actual report and possibly even talk to the radiologist myself if I had questions.   Sandra

Response:

Lar,  did I read this right that your doc compared your MRI and it did NOT come out normal?  Well then what the hey did it show…He does not want to elaborate on anything along those lines right now…What is that?   If it is not normal then what does he think…  I would ask him again about why not normal..Normal as to what?  This does not make no sense either it was or it was not… This is not right here..YOu need to call him and set down with him and ask him what he is looking for and what the radiologist said about the MRI>..I would be bananas if he did that to me…Of course I always was sort of a monkey…ok, little joke. So Lar you have to wait till next week to get another eye exam… Did the doc ever mention anything about an arteriogram, to see the vessels of the neck and brain…where they shoot dye into you and look at that?  My bro in law, had what you call a mild stroke and vision loss also…no other symptoms but the vision loss.  His doc said it was due to little clots that had lodged in the artery of the eye…Ask the doc, eye doc too.  If this is a possiblility…  Just my opinion here.  He also saw halos and they thought it might be the start of cataracts. You get back with that doc and demand that he tell you what he thinks is going on here…You have a right to know…and a right to get the kind of treatement you need now….not wait… Take care… Janers

Hi Guys–Did I tell you about my MRI results or not?? Well if I did here goes repetiton –if not here goes something new–The Eye Dr, called me at home and said my MRI did not come out normal from that of a comparred normalMRI[he would not or did not want to elaborate on anything along those lines right now] He has set me up for yet another eye special test for Dec.5th aznd wants to see yet the more reports from the 3rd eye Dr. that I have seen in the past–1st said vision in99 waqs 20-40 and 3rd this year was 20-70 so the 1st eye dr. reports are important–I guess?? Mean-while–severe migraines, vision focusing and seeing still going on. He also did not feel comfortable about the loss of vision 6 or 7 times in about the last year-year and a half or two or at one time seeing HALOS around things. But it is def. that noe of my meds are causing this. Well wll have to wit to see[no pun intended-LOL] Sorry for lenghtp but thats just me –log and drawn out, Hope your GPOBBLE DAY was good and the left-overs are not making you to tired of them–Take Care Lar
