Question:
I was diagnosed with lupus in the spring of 1996 almost three years ago now. Unfortunately I have never met anyone else that has had lupus outside of hospitol setting. While I do suffer from sever joint pain I also suffer from kidney and breathing problems and would like to discuss those more then anything else. I am currently on pred, imuran, plaquenil, cozar i was on cytoxan for a year but luckily that is over now. Would really just like to meet other people around my age(22) who suffer from this and exchange ideas on the best way to cope with it on a day to day basis.

Well, I’m not exactly close to your age, I’m 43 and I have been diagnosed for 10 years. However, I am always available for lupus patients to contact. I have been a support group leader and now am pretty much stuck at home. Hi I used to run a Lupus Support group with another woman for the AF. The other woman shared that yrs ago, being in your situation, she placed an ad in the pennysaver or little local circular and asked if you have Lupus and want to meet others with this problem, contact..and she met me as well as others. As well, the LFA may have groups in your area as well as the Arthritis Foundation The online is great..the in person was wonderful. I have had Lupus 19 yrs and knew people the whole time..but.. I got out there to forums etc to do that. you amy want as well to ask your doctor if other lupus pts he has would like to get together. if I can ever be of help, please..just ask!
