Our worst was waiting 2 hours, to be told they'd eventually found our records... in the other hospital. Then another hour.. By the time we were called to see the Great Man, we were having to move round the waiting area like musical chairs so the cleaners could hoover under the seats. -- Andy [Editor, Austrian Philatelic Society] For Austrian philately <URL:http://www.kitzbuhel.demon.co.uk/austamps> For Lupus <URL:http://www.kitzbuhel.demon.co.uk/lupus> For my other interests <URL:http://www.kitzbuhel.demon.co.uk>

Dear Cindy, thanks for writing. I learned a lot about getting the test results. I’ll do that next time. About the appointment times and waiting: Some had suggested that we explain to the dr. that our time was just as important as drs. and if dr didn’t see us in 15 mins, we would cancel our appt. and charge them. Not sure if anyone has done this, I can’t affaord to, hope someone else has. for sure, we need to be more acertive about our expectations of the drs. hope things get better for you and your daughter. love, elfgirl "KCat" <kcdoc…@ghg.net> wrote in message

Hi Cindy, I am glad that you stumbled onto us. I hope that won’t change no matter what the rheumy decides. You know that everyone is welcome. Let us know how the new meds work for you and what the blood tests tell you. BJ-Sask. Canada "Cindy" <cmat…@mmcable.com> wrote in message

doesn’t that just make you nuts – we pay them! and yet they can determine what is convenient for them not us. And oh no, don’t be late. but by all means feel free to sit in their pleasant little lounge with comfy chairs <intense sarcasm> for 2 hours. Last doc appt. for my daughter we waited 1.5 hrs in the waiting room and another 30 mins in the exam room for about 2 minutes of her time. >feels that If she can get me to sleep at night, maybe that will ease some of >the pain. it’s not a cure but it does help a lot IMO. My doc is very big on that issue – I’ve complained about being dependent on Ambien for so many years and she just chastises me and says that sleep is more important than worrying about that med. >arthritis, wear and tear of the joints. I suppose if there was anything worrisome she’d call you in earlier than that right? I always get a copy of test results ASAP even if I’m not going back in for a while. It’s worth it to know what’s there and be able to discuss it when you see her. >I just hope that she can figure it out and maybe not >sleeping is making my body ache so bad.
i find it a delicate balance – if I stay in bed too long my lower back will hurt and often my hips. but without at least 8 hours of sleep I don’t function well at all. >You know that I havent been >diagnosed with lupus, I just sort of stumbled on to this newsgroup while >searching for answers. we certainly like havin’ ya here. >Thanks again, and Hope you dont mind answereing my dumb >questions all the time.
I’ve not seen any dumb questions from anyone here. ask away – someone’s always got info or an opinion.

one of our local SG members says that you have to decide that seeing doctors *is* your job and that doing so helps you cope with the waiting and such. I dunno… I can’t seem to think that way though – in fact, that’s the last thing I want to accept. but it works for her.

Well I went to the Rheumatologist today. I got a letter to confirm my appointment and it said if you were more than ten minutes late, they would reschedule. Well my appointment was at 8:00 and I got there ten minutes to. I filled all the first time paper work and sat there for over an hour. They give a person an hour to fill out all the paper work. I thought maybe I had come on the wrong day. Basically she just examined me and took about ten gallons of blood. She feels that If she can get me to sleep at night, maybe that will ease some of the pain. Now I don’t know about that, but I will be glad to get a good nights sleep. She said that my connective tissues felt okay, just a little of that osteo arthritis, wear and tear of the joints. So now I wait for 4 weeks to see her for the results. I just hope that she can figure it out and maybe not sleeping is making my body ache so bad. You know that I havent been diagnosed with lupus, I just sort of stumbled on to this newsgroup while searching for answers. I thank everyone here for all their help and I kinda like hanging here. Thanks again, and Hope you dont mind answereing my dumb questions all the time. Cindy

Cindy, there are no dumb questions. I take a muscle relaxer and a sleeping medication every night. It helps, but sometimes I still wake up every hour on the hour! How do our bodies do that. I am serious, every hour on the hour.I am glad your connective tissue feels ok. We hope the gallons of blood you sacrificed to the doctor, come back great!Wende "Cindy" <cmat…@mmcable.com> wrote in message
