Question:
*Diagnosed recently, but which disease not determined, symptons not typical in combination or some may be of something else: sporadic swelling of feet and hands (mostly left side) Occassional swelling of face, joint pain – mostly elbows, muscle pain in hip, thighs, calves, some in feet, recently in lower buttocks, dry eyes, some dry skin and peeling around fingers. *Past: Gall bladder surgery, minor uterine disorders, severe menustration (continue pill with tubes tide to control) anemia, Hypoglycemic *Currently take Pred and Plaquenil along with Vitamins and Calcium Have had muscle atrophy from past back problem, now corrected, over weight and gaining (preds?) Not always eat right, always craving the junk. Don’t require but a few hours of sleep, but it may hit at any time and then I have to give it up. Have a large amount of stress lately half good, half not. *Is there a resource I can check out my symtons to all the possibilities, then the typical lifestyle to expect, meds, & alternatives. At the age of 40 I have just become what I always wanted to be, I need to do what is best for my health. I need to know the definate do’ and don’ts and concerns. *My doctor continues extensive testing, but is unsure at this point. He found symptons that I had never given credit to, just because I had been this way for so long, never thought alot of some of it. How do I know if I have some other symtons not aware of. I have to say the meds have helped so far. What else do I need to do…Anyone?

Hi There is an interesting phenomenon that appears in a book I read, The New Arthritis breakthrough by Henry Scammell. Also, the site http;//immed.org is a researcher of many rheumatic illnesses. a lot of the approach has been a thought that there may be an infection. In My case it was true. A mycoplasma infection that just kept on going causing a diagnosis of RA, Lupus and Sjogrens syndrome. I am on an antibiotic therapy now and was able to get off the pred. ( yes it does put on weight) I was on methotrexate and was able to wean off that as well. if I can help, please let me know Marge Marge
